Rich and Mary strive to produce the highest quality tomatoes possible. After years of growing for supermarkets, for the past couple of years Rich has grown a beefsteak variety of tomato called Caruso. This tomato has incredible flavor, is juicy, and very delicate. This is a variety of tomato that has been chosen especially for farmers' markets, because of its flavor. Supermarkets can't stock this variety because it is too delicate to stand up to the handling required to sell a tomato at the supermarket. To accommodate the supermarket customers, Rich has started growing a cluster tomato called Clarance. This is a sturdier tomato that has firm flesh and better than average flavor. Also new this year are limited quantities of Favorita, a super sweet cherry tomato and Sun Gold , a low acid yellow tomato. |
